go to settings, click on update, you will see no update available. on that screen just type 0227 you will see red button pop up @ right bottom corner or just press ok after 0227 and press red button and you will be able to download.:)

I have done the software update but now by box will not load right everytime it starts up it just goes to the software update screen and says the that the current software is the latest. I have checked to make sure that my startup app is MYTV ONLINE2 I have done a number of factory resets and if I chance the startup app it will go to that app but the MYtv online2 app will not load. even if I try and load Mytv online2 after the box has booted up it still just goes to the software update screen any help????????????????

uninstall the mol and then factory reset and then reinstall mol and then retry installing firmware (use the 0227 code and the red button for beta update)

This is exactly how I did it and others with success.

After your factory reset, uninstall MOL.
Then re-install MOL then go to Update and update to the beta MOL.

when I do the factory mol is removed and I have to go into the market and reinstall it anyway. when I first boot up after a factory reset MOL is not there on the main screen

when you have the MOL installed, go into My Apps and uninstall it thru that menu as appossed to the market. Then reinstall thru Market

of all the Formuler boxes, currently only the z8 has the MOL2 available, but no you do not have to install it.
This issue that we been discussing here is not a new issue. It happened to my z8 a few updates ago but I was able to get passed that and this latest update went off without a glitch for me.
But I have seen one other along with 382130, with this same issue with this newest update.

New version of Update App released today.
It is to solve the issue where some users can't connect to the update app.
This is basically the same as going into your router's admin panel and changing the DNS being used, but this app does it only for the connection to the 'update' server.
Ultimately, this is only a temp fix for ISP blocking.

This is an update for the Update Application itself and not a Firmware or an IPTV (MOL) update.
You will see the updating process show 'Check Update v1.1.1' and then it should change to 'Check Update v2.0.0'


If connecting issue presist, you can now revert back to v1.1.1 thru the Market.
You will find the 1.1.1.1 app in the 'ETC' category in the Market.
1.1.1.1 cannot be used in conjunction with a VPN , while the other version released thru your Update App can (where permitted).

I have done the software update but now by box will not load right everytime it starts up it just goes to the software update screen and says the that the current software is the latest. I have checked to make sure that my startup app is MYTV ONLINE2 I have done a number of factory resets and if I chance the startup app it will go to that app but the MYtv online2 app will not load. even if I try and load Mytv online2 after the box has booted up it still just goes to the software update screen any help????????????????

Formuler Z Alpha
Formuler released a new box.
It is not an upgrade to the Z8, but instead it is just an added model that includes the MOL2, as does the Z8
This Z Alpha box comes with the MOL2 and does also use the same firmware as the Formuler Z8 and the Dreamlink T3
This will be the Z Alpha's first firmware upgrade.



FIX EPG Information
Since the last Official Update there have been some EPG errors when viewing the EPG Channel Grid and Channel info Bar.
Follow outlined steps to fix this...
-Open the MOL2 with the side bar menu showing ... (while viewing a channel, use the Menu button to bring up that side-bar menu).
-Open the Connections.
-Open the Server being used.
-Ensure it is Disconnected and then open the Edit function for that server (you can not edit if the server is Connected, so it must first be Disconnected).
-Scroll down to EPG Mode and set that to UTC
-Then scroll down in that same menu and use the Connect function.

That last step saves the UTC setting, so ensure to follow that.

The MTV online update doesn't seem to work I posted in another thread so if you want, delete it sorry I should have read this one first. The VOD works fine, but the live TV wont even try to load, not even a spinning icon. The channels show up and just go black, the EPG line looks like it goes through an update, but nothing but black even after leaving it for hours.

I had loaded this same update onto the Dreamlink T3 yesterday and have no issues.
I hadn't loaded the Z8 yet thou but when I saw your post just now I am now connecting the Z8 up and will report my findings here in a few minutes.

LiveTV working well, channels pop right in and no freezing at all with iptv66.

Just a thought but maybe you are loosing internet connection when attempting to connect to LiveTV.
That has been experienced here with this Z8 before.

Hardwired, but it runs VOD just fine, I wonder if I have something set wrong, I went through every setting and all looked good. I hate to do a full reset but I may have to. Maybe I need to remove the app and reinstall it. I will pull it out and see if the telltale stops flashing.

For anyone who has this problem, I cleared the stored info for the TV online app in my android settings, and removed and reinstalled it all at one time, the same thing may work without the remove and reinstall if you just clear the info, and reboot the Z8. Cardinal rule most times when you have a problem with an update is clear the cache, I didn't. Thanks for looking Crazed my friend, Simple fix should I should have done. Up and running flawless.

For some reason using Internet archive with DuckDuckGo to download after this update after the first download over 2gb some downloads even less than 800 meg will just disappear. I have a zip file that I have never seen before listed that was there just after the update and reboot, I haven't opened it. It seems like a memory resident file since it reloads after being deleted sometimes. If this is true it must be somehow connecting to the update file and replicating Is it something I need to install or do I need to do a reset and hard reset just after a no recycle bin delete with a power off.

I am trying to walk through a problem that started after the update. I use duckduckgo browser to go to Internet archive and download zip files movies, books , music, ETC. Since the update I will be downloading a zip file and it will just disappear. If I start two or three some of them one or two will fully download but the others will just disappear. Most times when I unpack the zip file it will show the list of files and the one I wish to save will be there say a 1gig mpg I choose the destination folder and start the transfer from the internal drive to a dedicated 3tb hard drive it starts then just goes away. Only rarely I can get a complete transfer and uncorrupted file. I am just wondering if it is a glitch or something to do with my hardware. I hate to go to a computer to download these things, the Formuler is way faster and gives a better chance of not being corrupted when it is working. I don't have any read problems with any files they run flawlessly from start to end pause and play or whatever. Just the downloads. I haven't tried another browser because Duck works so well.

I did a hard reset and cleared the Memory and cache, I didn't do a full restore, I redid the download storage folder on the box and so far it seems to be working I haven't pushed it past half the total storage by doing eight or nine downloads at one time yet again though so I will push it up after I do some things I want to get done and let you know. Right now I think it was just a glitch in one of the downloads that hung the gateway and limited the amount of data that could be processed before it ran out of capacity. More like a memory block that was full and unavailable till it could write to a lost file. The box saw the downloads as orphan data and cleared them because they could not be completed or written to the storage folder.

There has been 2 new updates released. But neither of them is an update for the box itself or the MOL
They are updates for the 'Remote App' and the other is an update direct for the 'BT-100'

These were released September 23
But you will not see them in your normal update menu(s).
Open the Market and scroll down to the Utilities/ETC category and there is where the Formuler Remote app can be found (v1.0.0-r78)
Install that and then you should see it trigger the Bt-100 update.



These 2 updates are for all Formuler receivers across the board and not just the Z8

after the last update 1.4.75,there is a problem in MOL2. when switching channels the screen goes black 3-4 seconds(The signal has been lost) and back again.
i never seen this before, what to do?

ANY time you update any major software on a box let the software complete its installation, it will probably reboot, let it finish all of the installation steps and stabilize, THEN clear the cache, turn the box off and do a reset. Don't do a restore, just unplug it and let it sit for a few minutes, plug it back in let it go through the full reboot and stabilize again. It should do all it is going to do. Sometimes there are files or memory resident items that need to be removed to let a software access something it needs to, and clearing your cache and resetting will open the gate most of the time. No two people use a box exactly the same what works for one user may not help someone who has different programs or a different setup. Anyway when you need help it is always a good idea to let CRAZED 8.4 or whomever it is trying to help you what the particulars of your setup are, but NO personal things like names emails or sub numbers.

Updates for the 'Remote App' and the other is an update for the 'BT-100'
These were released September 23
But you will not see them in your normal update menu(s).
Open the Market and scroll down to the Utilities/ETC category and there is where the Formuler Remote app can be found (v1.0.0-r78)
Install that and then you should see it trigger the Bt-100 update.

These 2 updates are for all Formuler receivers across the board and not just the Z8
