Ryan Blaney may be out of NASCAR's playoffs, but he is driving great right now. He won his third pole of the season at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, averaging 200.505 mph in qualifying for the AAA Texas 500 (3 p.m. ET Sunday, NBCSN).

"Even though we're out of the playoff we want to go and obviously win races," Blaney told NBCSN after his run. "Our car's been really fast all day, so hopefully we can keep it."

Clint Bowyer will start second while Kevin Harvick will be third.

Martin Truex Jr. missed out on the final qualifying round when Aric Almirola knocked him off in the final minute. He will start 13th.

Chase Elliott will start 16th after he was dissatisfied with how his car was moving during the second round.
