When the guide showing your favorites is on the screen push the button shown at the bottom of the page. I think it's yellow.

It somewhat depends on your Kodi version and your skin. However, let's hazard a guess...

Select Favorites in the left side menu from your home screen, not something you would have intutively anticipated. Your favorites will come up. Choose the context menu (sometimes long pressing the center button does the same thing) and select delete.

If you're not getting the submenu in favorites when you select it, click the left side Favorites again. The selection process can be a little weird.

I'm moving ya...

You can also pull up the file "Favorites.xml" with a text editor
It is located in the userdata directory.
* It is a protected directory so you need to enable Hidden Files & Folders

O/S
Android Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/ (see note)
iOS /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/Kodi/userdata/
Linux ~/.kodi/userdata/
Mac /Users/<your_user_name>/Library/Application Support/Kodi/userdata/
OpenELEC /storage/.kodi/userdata/
Windows c:\Users\<your_user_name>\app data\roaming\kodi\userdata\
*Note* Android location
Sometimes the exact path will differ from device to device. The Android userdata folder is usually
inside of "sdcard" so the path might be /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/
