Tiger Woods is returning to the U.S. Open. The USGA announced Thursday that Woods has officially filed his entry for the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in New York.

Woods, 42, last played at the U.S. Open in 2015 and missed the cut. He hasn't made the weekend at the year's second major since 2013.

"The U.S. Open is the ultimate test in all of golf," Woods said, per Mark Herrmann of Newsday. "Par is a value. That, to me, is a lost art. Going in if you know you shoot something under par, you're going to give yourself a chance. We know that going in. But still, how do you get prepared to get punched in the face?"

Oh wonderful. So we'll get to see his "shining presonality" once more. I like golf better without him and his over joyous fist pump. He's a jerk, the opposite of Arnie and Phil.

His presence still means big TV ratings...

The question is does he still have any magic left in the tank, I think that is what people are wondering!!!

Tiger played some nice golf shots in his day.
I used to joke and say that of my all-time favorite best 10 golf shots, Tiger was in 12 of them :)

Probably my favorite was in the 2005 Masters Championship
16th hole at Augusta
Only Tiger could have made that shot work :)

This year's Masters he did okay, he seemed to be focused.
He had his game intact, sort of ..... them par 5s were his killer.

Tiger missed the cut at the US Open this weekend. So did Rory and Speith and a few other top players:eek:
Johnson is looking for a US Open win, but at 6 strokes behind the leaders, he will have to step up his game !
He is currently looking at his first Birdie on the 11th

He's talking about Dustin Johnson in his last sentence.

I think you might have been looking at this round, not the overall score.

probably what happened, yup.
I just had turned the game on a few minutes ago , so I was scrambling to see what was happening today

Did you know that if Dustin wins this he will be the only player to ever win both the US Open and the tournament played just before (which was at St.Jude, last weekend and Dustion won).
Other major tournaments have had winners that won the major and the tourny the weekend prior, but never with the US Open.

Interesting... Did not know that. Still quite a bit of golf left, though.

Dustin is 6 over for the day but holds a one stroke lead on the next two guys.
Good thing Dustin went out today with a substantial lead, cause them other two guys shot a 4 under for the day !
Shooting anything under Par in the US Open is a fantastic day!

It will be interesting to see if he can hold it through tomorrow. He better not have another day like today or he will be in trouble.

Koepka is looking good .
He is the defending US Open Champion from last year.

Dustin is loosing strokes to Koepka. They are final pairing and currently on the 13th hole
Dustin is 3 strokes back and Fleetwood just over took Dustin to take second spot.

Koepka has 5 or 6 birdies so far for the day.

I can't believe how many putts they're missing. It's like the balls have an iron core and there's a guy under there pulling them away from the hole. Those players can aim and read greens.

It been a tough tournament, some surprises too.

Yup, she is all over now.

Back to Back US Open Championships for Brooks Koepka !!

That is really something considering his wrist surgery in 2016 (I think it was 2016)

Fantastic Brooks Koepka !!

I missed this at the time .
Phil Mickelson broke the rules !!

He did that at the 13th on Saturday when he hit the ball as it was still rolling and got a 2 stroke penalty, ontop of his multiple bogey hole... but then on Sunday he came to same hole and holed it on his putt. He put up his arms to celebrate. Phil was at that point sitting at 16 over par or something. He never let the crowd down with his infamous celebration for Sunday with a par, and on that same 13th hole with his 10 stroke score on Saturday.
Luv this guy even when he breaks the rules !!!
