Hello. I have simple iptv running with mx player. I have kodi 15.2 on deamlink t6. I can get channel name and number, even icons with generic m3u with options. Is there a way to get program information for channels? Is that what is meant by epg? I get thousands of channels but are scattered all over and never know whats on. By reading other posts seems some folks get epg function. I just dont know how to go about it with my set up. Tried the pvr simple iptv but just no success either. Thanks in advance.

- Change the URL to the new URL, then click "OK" to save the settings
- "DO NOT ENABLE YET"
- Go to System Settings/ PVR&LiveTV/
Guide Tab - click "Clear Data" and confirm by clicking "Yes"
General Tab - click "Clear Data" and confirm by clicking "Yes"

No, you dont use a MAC#, you just need a Generic m3u w/options Playlist or the remote url address given to you when when you selected a playlist on your donation page.

* Now change the m3u playlist file that IPTV Simple client uses, to the new file.
- Start Kodi. Go to System settings /Addons /My addons /PVR Clients /IPTV Simple Client
- Disable, then Configure.
- Change m3u playlist location to local file and browse for the playlist, or select Remote and copy/paste the address or type it in.
- Click "EPG Settings" button
- Click in the "XMLTV URL" edit window
- Change the URL to the new URL,

hxxps://raw.githubusercontent.com/kens13/epg/master/guide_kens.xml
*(Change hxxps to https )

- click "OK" to save the settings
- Dont Enable yet.
- Go to PVR/ LiveTV Settings and Clear Data Cache.
- Now go back to PVR and Enable.

Your channel numbers will be sequential (1,2,3...) unless you use my template to make a custom m3u Playlist,

Ok hold on. "..* Now change the m3u playlist file that IPTV Simple client uses, to the new file". What is the new file? Its not the same one im using for simple iptv? As in the m3u generic or m3u generic with options channel list you get from the donation checker?

You said in Post#1 you were using a generic m3u playlist with iptv simple with MX external player(I assume you mean the standalone Android app - IPTV Simple ??)
I also noted you said you tried pvr.iptv simple client in kodi, and had no luck with getting guide information either.
So I assume pvr.iptv simple client was working.

The 1st line in my reply to your post I left in just to indicate where to enter either an m3u or m3u URL link.
So in your Post #5, I cant follow... What addon cant be loaded?
Was pvr IPTV Simple client on Kodi never working, or was it just not getting Guide data?

The instructions are basically to change guide sources properly when using KODI.
If you are having other problems, please re-post and clarify What it is!!!

Ok, i will try to be more clear.
The application im using is "simple iptv", not iptv simple, if that makes a difference.
The player app im using is MX.
This set up is working as in channels come in.

Now, the above are apps i installed via usb after downloading from playstore.

Now, the PVR IPTV Simple Client is what i assume you trying to help me with. That addon i got through superepo addons via file manager on kodi.
That PVR i have not been able to get to work. No channels no epg nothing. After configuring addon unable to load.

Kens, just wanted to say thanks for the guide you provide. Just great, and works on every possible app. Perfect Player, and even the new ProgTV guide. Really appreciate you sharing.

I tried Simple IPTV, when I was testing various apps.
As far as I remember, there is noe EPG capabilities (It may show channel list & info, just cant remember).

If you want a very good stand-alone Android program with a full EPG, use Perfect Player instead of Simple. You wont regret it.

Finally got pp to install. I had previously downloaded the exe file not the apk. So now i got epg going. Tje problem now is that many channels video is slow. The audio is fine and its not that it freezes but more of a lag. Any suggestions?

In settings/ playback - Decoder set to Software or Native.
This setting is very dependent on the platform.
Try them all.

Ok. Its on software right now. I will try native. It works quite smoothly on smartphone. Just on the t6 it lags. On simple iptv though on the t6 also no lag.

Tried all options and only works on software. However noticed that depending on the video quality of the channel, ie 1080p, 720p or standard definition then the video will lag or not. The only channels it will work with no lag is the standard def channels. Is this a perfect player issue or do i need to make adjustments somewhere. Thanks again
