Use playlist on T1 or T1 plus

Can someone please tell me why I would use a playlist? Is it more secure access for my unit? Trying to understand it.

If it is better, can you please point me to some instructions? I searched but am not sure exactly what I am looking for. Is it an m3u playlist? That looks like a special audio setup. Right now I am confused.

Using the Stalker Middleware incorporates a lot of overhead functionality that we do not use. It is designed for use by providers that charge for separate channels or packages and tracks Tarrif charges etc., all of which we do not use since we get everything. That is why there is more required for logging in to the server (MAC#, DevID, etc).

Playlist method gives you more options for the Program or App that you can use to enjoy the service.
You also have more choice of EPG Guide Sources.
You can also tailor a Playlist to your preferences.
You can also use a Playlist on multiple devices (only 1 unit active at a time), so you can turn off the living room unit... and continue watching on a Tablet in the backyard, as an example!
