Legendary singer Tom Petty, who is well-known as the lead singer of “Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers” and as the co-founder of the 1980s supergroup the “Traveling Wilburys,” is brain dead after being rushed to hospital, TMZ reports. (more)
Petty, 66, was found unconscious and not breathing at his home in Malibu on Sunday night, according to entertainment news website TMZ. Paramedics were able to get a pulse and he was rushed to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica.

They sure put out some great tunes. They never got the credit they were due. I think too many people saw them as a novelty.

was on my way home from work this afternoon when I heard this news :(

Possibly the best at what he did, of all the greatests.
Wow.... I am just thinking and really I have always thought of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as my fav all time band...
Their first album they put out, was also the first I ever bought on my own, I think.

I am sitting here now playing Petty song after Petty song ... one can not choose ones favourite !
