2 questions re: recording and wifi connection

Hi guys, I just got a dreamlink t1 plus last weekend and still learning much of the functionality. I can't seem to find a straight answer for any of the following:

1) Does the t1 plus support a 5ghz wifi network or only 2.4ghz?
2) I tried scheduling a recording when I was away one evening, but it didn't take. When I turned the tv on I got a message asking if I wanted to go to the channel to begin recording, I pressed okay and then it began recording (caught the show in the last 15 mins). I was able to view it in the playlist later as well so all seems to be fine there. Was I supposed to keep the box turned on and set on that channel before leaving the house? IIRC I turned off the box before leaving (power button on the remote).

yea i would think you need power good question on ghz i can do both

You can pick up your 5ghz network? My box doesn't pick it up but testing on my laptop near the STB I get 100 mb down so I know it's strong.

I tried again last night, but without turning off the STB. It recorded 0MB of the show, but it automatically went to the correct channel and created the file in the playlist... very odd.
