Race 2: Indy 500 - Drivers Start Your Engines at 12:14p EDT. Scott Dixon is on the pole, but I think "rookie" Fernando Alonzo has a great chance to win.

Scott Dixon and Jay Howard got together and launched Dixon into the air, twisting and turning and with Helio Castroneves escaping just underneath of Dixon's mid-air car !
Both drivers are okay and have exited the Medical facilities.
I saw that on replay... wow. Alonso may not be used to just turning left, but he looks real good.

Fernando Alonso out... The sudden sound of a blown engine is surprisingly tragic.
Ouch... big one. 5 cars. Only 15 laps to go.

yup, was close for Helio ....a couple times, if we include that narrow escape :)

thnx for the vid ... that crash was scaring and both Jay and Scott walked away from their cars :)
