External storage setup

I have an extra external storage that I would like to get setup for my T1+. Does the hard drive on the external storage need to be formatted a certain way? If so what does it need to be? Thanks again for any feedback

FAT32

If it is a large drive, you might wanna use a program like swissknife to format, otherwise can do with windows
