Dependices not met

not sure if this is right area but what does that mean when i try and update an addon/repo and i get dependices not met ??

Basically, it's like trying to install office 2013 on a windows 95 computer and it won't go. I tried to install iptv stalker on xbmc and had to upgrade to Kodi before it would install.
