Anyone encounter any good horror or sci-fi flicks lately? I watched A Christmas Horror Story last night. Although it didn't rely on CGI, which is always a plus, the co-mingled threads were a bit light on cohesiveness and depth. There were a few jumps, but I wouldn't give it more than 5.5 or 6 out of 10.

Dumb and Dumber To with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels... now that is a Horror movie !!
LOL

I saw that Christmas Horror the other night too. I liked old Captain Kirk in his role as the radio station DJ, lol
I had been watching quite a few movies lately, always on in the background.
I found a couple that were not too bad, but nothing spectacular for Horror really. Its hard to find a good old horror that keeps you from turning the lights on

Before I Wake (2016 USA) Drama, Fantasy, Horror
- A young couple adopt an orphaned child whose dreams and nightmares manifest physically as he sleeps.

The Voices with Ryan Reynolds and Gemma Arterton is an older one (2014), but it is pretty messed up :)
Gemma Arterton was also in Hanzel and Gretal, as Gretal. Granted that flick was not a box office smash, but...... Gemma is a fine actor.

13 Sins (2014) - not too bad, and has an interesting story llne if anything.

I just watched the Bone Tomahawk (2015) with Kurt Russel
Its a western type thriller with Kurt playing the sheriff of a small town.
Only problem is that they have a clan of cannibals living in the caves outside of town
Nothing was horrifying, well at least not until the cannibals got hungry anyway.
Not a great movie either, but if you like your typical Kurt Russel role acting, then it is bearable to watch this one.

Coherence (201) Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller

This one is more comic then Sci-Fi, but worth watching for a laugh at SciFi :)
Absolutly Anything (2015 UK) Comedy, Sci-Fi
-- Simon Pegg, Kate Beckinsale
-- A group of eccentric aliens confer a human being with the power to do absolutely anything, as an experiment.

Yep, good horror is hard to find. I thought Shatner did a decent job as the DJ. I wish the rest of the movie was up to that level.

I saw Absolutely Anything. It was decent. I like most of Pegg's material.
