kodi app available for free purchase on amazon website

has anyone tried getting the app on amazon website and install directly from fire tv device? Does it work? I just noticed the kodi app for free purchase on their site today..

I've read elsewhere that you can't install Kodi directly from the site, and you still would need to sideload it. You might as well try it, since it's free, and the worst that can happen it says you can't download it.

I tried it. The fire tv device couldn't even pickup the app. I think it's because the app is deemed incompatible at amazon. bummer.
