Hello - I recently setup my T1 and performed all the updates - I installed Kodi 16.1 but notice that the resolution is set at 1280x720 even though the output from the T1 is set at 1080p 60Hz - is there a way to have koi to run at the full resolution of the box?

yes - no options to set the resolution in Video settings even in Expert Mode - are you able to run Kodi at 1080p?

i think you need to set the resolution in the settings of the box, not inside kodi. that's how it works with most (if not all) android boxes.
i do not own a t1 but i had/have many android boxes and it should not change resolution when you start kodi, it should be fixed to the box setting hence the lack of resolution change in kodi.

EDIT: ups sorry i am an idiot. i did not read your post properly.. i dont know why kodi is 'limited' to 720p then. :/
what happens if you play a 1080p movie?

no worries - thanks for your suggestions - 1080p movie gets scaled down - if I select original resolution from koi video settings (1080p mov) it scales off the edges of the screen

that's really odd, the reason android boxes are not normally able to change resolution or refresh rates within kodi is a limitation of android before lollipop that is at least, and many cant do it on that version and up either. so resolution of kodi is fixed at the box' output resolution. or that's what i have seen as said above on all other android boxes, excluding a very few on android 5+ like NVidia shield; but the t1 runs KitKat? right? but you can change the settings in kodi with the nasty issue you mentioned (cutting of the edges) though. strange.

I also have the shield and no issues with getting/setting 1080p from within kodi - also, with an avov hybrid box, I can see that kodi runs at 1080p from within sys info - like you said - strange behaviour with the T1
