anyone i just bought the mag254 and followed all of the instruction trying to connect i am getting a message 'page loading error' please help

Check out your internet connection..Are you using a router??..and Connected direct with Cat5??

mag showing internet connection in the info and yes i am connecting through a router using cat5

Ok try this reboot/cycle your modem and router...Lets see if it connects then.Then go into settings Network info,you should see an address assigned by your router
.You can also do a hard reboot of your Mag..

will I need to know the MAC address of my mag254 when the server stops testing?

Don't know for sure, but it's easy enough to find.
Goto settings -> Device Info -> and it's the third line.

Mag254.... on or off? Is there any difference in the service life of this unit whether it's left on or off when not watching? I know some IKS STB's heat up, and are probably best turned off when not using. Any knowledgeable opinions?

being in stand by hasn't affected any iptv or android box I've owned, thks

stand-by being left in the "on" position with the remote.. Anotherwords, the program shows, only the TV is off? Hate to sound stupid about this, but don't want to burn up my new toy! ha ha

stand by is not on, it is exactly as stated..it is not using up your bandwidth

I plug it into a power bar with surge protector- switch it on when use it and and switch off , when I am not using it over night, so it won't burn out the blue led light on the front of the box.
