im having problems with my mag 254, for some reason it won't read my usb. i have tried two different usbs with no success, maybe someone can help me outthere. what i have tried so far:
tried format to fat32, nfsp format with no luck.
powering the box on/off then plugging the usb stick
does it have to be a certain usb size?
thankx in advance.

USB devices can be most any size. There been reports of HDD up to 2TB will work.
I use a 1 TB hard drive device (USB)

File System should be NTFS -- this is for the Media Browser in outer portal

for m3u files that's the correct menu area you have.
For m3u and USB, I have that device's file system @ FAT
The NTFS system is for my movie files played thru Media Browser.

You did extract the zipped file, right ?
It should have the .m3u extension.

what do you use to partition the drive ?

i just posted a great tool I recently found. Check the Computer area here at iptvTalk for the EaseUS Partition Manager.

Maybe give that one a try ... I found it be one of the best

i have tried that format tool with no luck. it formatted the drives but once i plug it in to the port nothing happens, it is not detecting the usb drive. i guess my usb ports arent working. its just weird that both of them dont respond. im gonna call the infomir staff and see where it goes.

I know you want to use your stick in home media , but have you looked in media browser ? If your sticks are readable you should at least be able to see them . Have you tried a usb mouse in your ports , that can give you an idea if the ports are working .

When you load up your mag box into the portal you start in the TV section , to the right is Videoclub , to the left is Media Browser .
